1970 Norton Wasp Hack
This is a really rare bird. It has an understated, monochromatic beauty about it &mdash all in silver. This bike we sold over a dozen years ago in California (where Ziggy first restored it), and it ended up back in England; its original birthplace. This machine had a twin cylinder 850 cc Commando engine, tuned to 900 cc. The frame is built by Wasp (picture of the factory in the bottom right). In the early 70's, the Norton/Wasp Hack was the winning combination in Sidecar cross World Championships, in particular for riders like Robert Grogg / Andreas Hüsser and Rikus Lubbers / Bart Notten. It's a fascinating motorcycle sport requiring two very agile athletes. Check out the Norton Wasp pictures below, with a few sidecar cross photos thrown in for demonstration.
